Fernando Galembeck
Graduated in Chemistry (B.Sc., 1964; Ph.D., 1970) in the University of São Paulo. Post-doctoral fellow in the University of Colorado Medical Center (Denver, USA) and in the University of California, Davis (1972-4), research fellow in the Unilever Research Port Sunlight Laboratory (UK, 1976).
Professor of Chemistry in the University of Campinas (1980-retired in 2011), Head of the Institute of Chemistry (1994-8) and Vice-Rector of the university (1998-2002).
Research areas: Ph.D. thesis was on Inorganic Physical Chemistry (metal-metal bond equilibria in aqueous solution) and post-doc on Physical Biochemistry (protein-protein interactions). In 1976 started activities in Colloid and Surface Science that remained the main research area since and is currently diversified into Materials Chemistry, Nanotechnology and Electrostatics.
